December 2nd - First Presidency Christmas Devotional

This evening we cuddled up on our bed to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional.  Luz and I made dessert earlier so that it could go right into the oven as we started watching and bake for 45 minutes, thus being hot and ready for us to eat when the devotional ended.  The dessert part is a new tradition for us this year, one I like.  The kids were a little restless during the talks, but both stood up to conduct the music each time the choir sang.  We also identified several instruments in the orchestra. :)

I invented my own recipe today.  That is also a new thing for me.  I had a loaf of whole grain bread I needed to use, and I really wanted something apple, so I created an Apple Bread Pudding.  I thought it was tasty.  The rest of the family seemed to like it.  I never make dessert, so they probably didn't know what to do.  It would have been better with some vanilla ice cream. :)

November 30th - Festival of Trees

Our first Christmas activity of the season.  We have been attending the Festival of Trees for either 4 or 5 years now and enjoy it every time.  This year the kids really enjoyed it too!  Their favorite part was watching the dance performances on stage.  This is not the most fabulous picture, but I have resolved to photo-document our family life more.  I have been seriously slacking in the picture-taking department.
